Well, hell...

KitchenAid range, three years old, oven door handle comes unscrewed. Cannot be fixed without taking apart the entire door.   Ten- minute service call, $86.  When it rains, it pours.

Much prettier pictures at my other blog, here.

  5. Well I am guessing that Kitchenaid isn't going to be advertising on your blog! lol! On second thought maybe you should contact them and offer them a deal...in exchange for new top of the line appliances!

  9. Amazing the brevity of appliances' working days in this day and age.

My brother and sis-in-law are boycotting GE refrigerators. At one year one month old, out of warranty, a $600 repair job. So special!

  11. I am soooooo right there with you! And enjoying the pretty "other" place, as well! Isn't it great to have the 2 sometimes... One to vent, and the other for beauty!

    Hope your day gets better!
    Amanda:)

P.S. I need your mailing address for a little prize from the pretty place!

  12. Dang woman....You are an appliance KILLER! How hard were you pulling on that door! I'm soooo sorry you are having this run of bad luck! See my oven door can never break...because it's never been opened in three years....that's the secret! Hope you have a breakdown free day!

  13. Mary, that is simply the pits!

I have definitely crossed KitchenAid off my list!

On a happier note, your photos are wonderful as always!

  14. Well, bless your heart! I'm so sorry that things keep breaking at your place. I am hoping that it gets fixed easily and nothing else breaks for a LONG time!

  15. Sorry about that, Mary! Isn't it weird how everything needs repair at the same time? Or things get lost? That happened to us before.

Is your refrigerator Kitchen Aid too?

  16. Mary you have to get a red pepper and start doing a chant of some sort to get rid of the "Malocchio" that someone has put upon your appliances! (Only an Italian would know what I'm talking about..lol!)

  19. This happened to me with my microwave. I had to order the little door handle, which was $50. When it came, there weren't any screws? They said they would gladly send them at an additional $5!! Highway robbery!!
    Good Luck!!

  20. LOL...LOL...sorry Mary I wasn't laughing at your stove and the handle but the title of your post. It just cracked me up. ~ Lynn

You know the Maytag commercial and the repairman and how he is so lonely because none of Maytag's appliance ever break down....well you couldn't prove that by me. Our Maytag dishwasher has been worked on 3 times in the last year.

  21. Ha! lol! I have one of those days all the time! Last month our dishwasher (under two years old) handle came unscrewed but my resourceful hubby took the door off himself and fixed it.
LOVE the title of this post!

  26. Well, it was cheaper than the $100 set of 4 knobs for my stove when they broke after a couple of years.
Only 1 broke, but you have to buy a set of 4! Boy was my husband mad.

  27. Man that is the pits! It seems like everything is junk these days?!?!!?*sigh* The important question is:what will you be baking now that it is fixed?
