Do you have a Dollar Store nearby? You know, the sort of place where everything is cheap, cheap, cheap, in price and in quality? I once bought a tape measure at the Dollar Store and had to leave it outside for a week because it smelled so strongly of plastic, or chemicals, or something...
Probably not healthy, huh?
Anyway, I thought of the Dollar Store the other day when I came home from an estate sale with this little silverplated cup. Tarnished, but totally fabulous.
One dollar.
Am I a super shopper, or what?
Happy shopping, dear bloggers!
You are The Super Shopper. I love that cup. The design on it is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary! I love your precious little cup you found. Wouldn't it be great to have the story behind it. I want you to know, I read your blog every day and enjoy it so much. You seem like the sweetest lady (cute too!). I realized I have never talked to you, so "Hi". I've been loving looking at your beautiful flowers. Have a wonderful day! Shelia
ReplyDeleteYou are, indeed, the Superest Shopper! I love it.
ReplyDeleteWell, you know I love the Dollar store.
ReplyDeleteThe cup is a fabulous find. I have a magazine article upstairs that I'm going to use as inspiration when I decorate my little studio. The woman used her collection of silver trophy cups in her design.
Your little cup was probably an award of some kind. Such a sweet little find.

Hi Sheila! It's so nice to "meet" you, and thank you so much for your kind words. :)
ReplyDeleteBeverly and mental, thank you for the accolades! Maybe I should find a silver cup with the words "Super Shopper" engraved on it, or at least a t-shirt! :)
xoxo,
Mary
Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteEvery morning I check your blog...LOVE IT! When I saw this picture of the silver cup and the words Dollar Store, you woke me right up. For a minute there I thought you were saying you found this cup at the Dollar store! :) I am also such a big bargain hunter...love the thrill of a tag sale, flea market, etc. I recently found a Spode "Cookies for Santa" plate for a $1. Perfect condition! I have some of the Christmas Spode pieces, and I sure didn't pay a $1 for them! Have a nice day!
Mary that would have to be the best dollar you have ever spent. It is wonderful

You, my dear Mary, are the QUEEN of Super Shoppers! Beautiful little cup!

That's such a great find! I absolutely love great purchases! Sometimes you really can find great deals at the dollar store! Love your blog. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a Dollar Store shopper. I find some wonderful things there. It depends on what it is, though. There are some things I won't buy and others that I'm thrilled to find for a dollar. Your little cup is a real treasure. And a bargain. ~Adrienne~
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely a super shopper, Mary! I am amazed at the stuff you bring home from the different estate sales! Good job!
ReplyDeleteNext time, can I go with you? ;)
You are the Queen of Thrift Shopping! I think we should all come and go shopping with you so you can teach us your secrets! HA!

Too bad the Dollar Store doesn't carry things like that cup. That's what we need an antique and collectibles dollar store.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog,
Susan from the Little Yellow House
You ARE a super shopper. I love it! Much better than the junk at my dollar store. What the world really needs is a good dollar thrift shop, dont you think?
ReplyDeleteOkay, I've never seen anything like that in any dollar store I've ever been in. What in the world is going on? LOL!
ReplyDeleteTarnished is pretty ;) I love spending those thrifty dollars! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Mary
ReplyDeleteVery thrifty and a great addition to your collection (which I feel I know by heart!
:0)

That's my kind of dollar store! What a fun find.
ReplyDeleteI love bargains! You sure got a great one with that silver cup! Would love to see what it looks like all polished.

ReplyDeleteI'm playing catch up. What a fantastic bargain that was! That's my kind of dollar shopping :)

Mary, you win the super-shopper prize. The cup is adorable! It's fun finding bargains, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI love that lil cup!
ReplyDeleteI love the Dollar Store but if the item I want isn't made in America..I won't buy it..just one of my little quirks..
Have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Robin
