Mary I am a little frightened of your garden prowess. How can I claim to be "the garden expert" when it is clear that I am not even close. I am looking forward to your garden too.
Ummmmm, if we had that cold and ice, I would have such a HUGH fire going, a hot cup of tea, my latest magazines, some knock-out snacks, my bed covers turned back and my heated mattress pad turned up to HIGH, in readiness for a long, winters nap.....I LOVE cold days (only when I can stay inside, mind you!!) and I love nothing better in the world than RAIN, FOG, MIST, THUNDER, CLOUDY DAYS.....I just love them!! hugs, bj
I love the flowers, but I would give alot just to roll in that snow! It is in the 70,s here. I guess we always want what we don't have. It is crazy how I crave the cold and snow like you crave the warm and flowers.
Your garden is just spectatular! I would love to see some pictures of the layout, since I have a new house (to me) and am struggling with how to divide up the spaces.
...I l-o-v-e your garden photo - that is food for the spirit! And I have to admit that I am with 'bj' up there regarding cold and snow, I am one of those that loves the stuff! I get a big ol' fire going, pull out my fav' quilt, a cup of hot tea or hot choc'late (homemade not the box variety) and the latest book I'm reading or sewing project and I am oh so set! :o) But I have to admit that I like winter days with snow or something going on, it's the winter days that are just cold and gray that tend to wear on my nerves... Oh well, can't have everything now can we?...lol ;o)
...By the way, I don't know if you are aware of this company or not but I think of you whenever I receive an e-mail update from them, they are called, "Country Door". I just received an update from them and saw the most wonderful hydrangea chandelier there and the cutest glass domed pedestals for cupcakes! You are probably aware of them already but just in case, here's the link:
It's snowing here too and I have to leave for work (answering the phones, hoping for a "hot" prospect). Guess I need to go out and clear the driveway altho I am tempted to just ignore it!
Hi Mary! I'm a new reader of your blog. A snow day is fun! Enjoy it and let's hope it melts by Monday. Enjoy the graden catalogs and some hot chocolate.
Oh Mary, I am so feeling your pain! I can't wait to get my fingers in the soil and feel the warm sun on my back. It's rainy today and my toes are numb as I type. I think I may have to light a floral scented candle just to keep me going! Happy Friday :)
Okay, I think your blog just answered my question. I just read your Uncle post and saw more pictures of your beautiful garden. Your photos looks like they are straight from a magazine.
i was just thinking this morning of how i won't look out the window, instead i'll look at my computer LOL..
Your irises are so lovely Mary. I hope you get to stop by sometime, i'd love to show you what I did last year out in the garden. Can't compare to yours, though!
How beautiful your snow photo is but oh it makes me feel so cold. I would be looking forward to Spring too when it is so cold for you now. 1st March and it will be Autumn/Fall for me. I love Autumn and the falling leaves. Alison
Hi Mary! We are getting the same snow, but they refused to call school as our children are looking to attend until August.. (OK, it's not quite that bad, but it's close!) There is even talk of canceling April vaca.. I can't not wait unitl the gardens are a bloom! Thank you for the lovely view! Hugs, Abbie
You are so right......winter seems to be lasting oh so long this year......and what is with all the ice? We got about 4 inches of snow topped off again with a thick layer of ice. Yikes......hope all my bulbs and perennials are hibernating well. :-) Rosie

Our trees look so beautiful in all this white and quiet...and a cup of tea back in bed is sooo nice!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy it!
